Patriotism Topic-9/4/2011-DO TIEN

*As a really interesting topic, Patriotism, which is defined  as a loyalty to a country or  familiarity breeds affection, will be a rather broad topic discussed in this week. Shall we together get  a more deeply and precise look at the way of a person to express the love of their own home country in war and in peace and what should be done to be a patriot. It seems to be a good time to consider exactly what patriotism is and is not
As written above, then we merely go into 2 aspects related to Patriotism.
1. The differences in the way of expressing one's Patriotism both in war and in peace
2. To become a patriot, what should be done
-Most people associate patriotism exclusively with war. We must teach about the efforts of those immigrants who came before us and made it possible for us to enjoy the high standard of living they fought to attain. The love of the land and its people. Most of us who live in an urban environment might not have the same feelings about land that our ancestors felt, but we still become attached to places.Who doesn’t feel affection for the areas where they born, grew up and lived?.
-We sometimes lose faith in people and institutions. Find reinforcement in finding what is good about our people and our country – we, as citizens, can do to make our country better.
-But where do we go now to rekindle that feeling of love for our country and for all the citizens in it? How can parents and grandparents instill their love of country and concern for the welfare of others into the hearts and minds of their children and grandchildren?
-In our minds patriotism is more than love for one’s country. It’s accepting individual responsibility. You don’t have to be a hero to be a patriot. The average person can be a patriot by doing the extra things that make our country a better place in which we live. Registering to vote, educating yourself about public issues, supporting and voting for the best candidate and encouraging others to do the same are the actions of a patriot. The same for obeying laws and volunteering to help others.
-Principals are honoring personal achievement, respecting the rights of others, helping our neighbors, inspiring good, and magnifying love of one’s country.
-Patriotism is the love of One's country. It includes attachment to the country's land and people, admiration for its customs and traditions, pride in its history, and devotion to its welfare. The term suggests a feeling of oneness and membership in the country.
-Patriotism has existed in all ages and among most peoples. Evidence of patriotism can be found in the art, literature, and music of many countries. Many artistic masterpieces glorify a country's leaders, historical events, and scenery. Numerous literary works praise love of country and willingness to suffer even death in defense of a country's freedom and good name. Patriotic songs and slogans have helped unite citizens in support of their country during periods of war, revolution, or economic development.
-Schools help develop patriotism by creating an appreciation for common memories, hopes, and traditions. Through the study of history, for example, many students learn to love their country and admire its heroes. Patriotic organizations maintain and promote such symbols of patriotism as the national anthem, national flag, and national shrines and monuments.

  4. Suppose that you a sutudent lived in periods of agrresive war, my country was under the war circumstance, what would you do in defense for our country's good name?
Rushing to the front or going out to battle on site, if you would do that or not?
    :)
It is said that patriotism is the love fierce for our home country only, omit the life of others living outside the border of our country, what do you think of that? are you for or against that opinion?
others, myself included, are of the opinion that at times we don't know how to behave in the right way towards what happening recenlly. East Sea, for example, is of unsolved issues which is a hot matter in question at the moment.
